Veterinary public health includes wide range of subjects which should be implemented in veterinary curriculum. Thus, to achieve this goal, multidisciplinary approach covering all subjects (food and non-foodborne zoonosis, epidemiology or emerging and re-emerging zoonoses etc) is essential. Veterinary Public Health (VPH) is a multidisciplinary approach in learning where problem-solving approach can be applied. Thus, new ideas and projects are needed to develop strong network for implementation of VPH principles in training and research in all BOVA member universities.

The purpose of the meeting of Baltic veterinary specialists in food hygiene and infectious diseases is to discuss and prepare a proposal for ERASMUS IP project where public health, epidemiology of infectious diseases, food safety issues will be integrated.

Leader of the BOVA academic network on Veterinary Public Health is elected representative of LLU , assist.prof. Aivars Bērziņš.
