The Way for International Studies around the Baltic Sea!

BOVA UN starting from 2007 offers  a certain amount of BOVA courses on Master and Doctoral level using own internal financial support.

The development and selection of these course is based on the certain procedure developed and approved by BOVA CC and supported by BOVA Rectors' Board.

In 2012 the annual Call for Application is planned to be announced in early March, 2012.

NOVA/BOVA Nordplus network was established in 2008 when for the first time was submitted joint application to Nordplus HE program. Before it NOVA Nordplus network had a long experience promoting and performing mobility of students with Nordplus support inside Nordic countries. By enlarging the Nordplus network with Baltic partners, students and teachers now have possibility to be mobile between Nordic- Baltic, Baltic-Nordic, Baltic-Baltic and Nordic -Nordic countries.

2011/2012 study year is  the 4th year when Network project is approved by NORDPLUS and joint team of Nordplus coordinators from NOVA and BOVA members institutions as well the teaching staff and students by joint forces will implement this project with title:

Traditionally all member institutions from NOVA and BOVA take part in the project. Totally there are 13 partner institutions, 9 form NOVA and 4 from BOVA.

Each partner institutions has appointed a Nordplus coordinator responsible for the implementation of the project activities and mobility organisation in the respective institution as well as for information dissemination about all possibility offered by above mentioned project activities among students and teaching staff.

POJECT ACTIVITIES:

I. Mobility

Nordplus Mobility: a) express mobility for students; b)  1-12 months long mobility for students: c) teachers mobility.

- Woody Biomass Plantations: Options for Cost-effective Mitigation of Climate Change Effects , LLU, Jelgava, Latvia, 19-23 March, 2012;

- Enterpreneurship and Innovation for Rural Development , EMU, Tartu, Estonia, one week in March 2012;

- Evaluation of Quality of Poultry Meat and Eggs , LSMU-VA, Kaunas, Lithuania, 19-23   March, 2012;



Besides BOVA internal projects all BOVA member institutions participating in Nordplus Higher Eduction programme project together with NOVA.

The TEMPUS Programme 2007-2013 is the EU-funded programme that supports the modernisation of higher eduction in the EU's neighbouring countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East. The Programme· contributes to cooperation in higher education between the European Union and the partner countries. Tempus promotes the voluntary convergence of higher education system in these countries with EU developments in higher education.

The Tempus 5th Call for Proposals was published on 4th November, 2011 with a deadline for submission 23th of February 2012.

Aplication Deadline for ERASMUS IP is 9th March 2012.

An Intensive Programme (IP) is a short programme of study which brings together students and teaching staff from higher education institutions of at least three participating countries. It can last 10 continuous full days to 6 weeks of subject related work.
