All BOVA member universities
foresee
internationalization of their doctoral study programs in the
university�
development plans. BOVA University
strategy foresees
joint doctoral activities as one of the priority areas and BOVA network
has
plans to arrange 4 BOVA or NOVA-BOVA
specialized
international doctoral courses and 1 course in common subjects every
year.
Teacher teams from BOVA member universities are
welcome to apply for organization of BOVA doctoral courses in years
2008
(autumn term) and 2009.
Deadline for
application is
October 31, 2007
A BOVA doctoral course should
fulfill the
following basic criteria:

last
for a minimum of five days (preferably have a distance learning part);
-
have
a partner teachers from at least two BOVA member universities (host
university
including); teachers from NOVA UN and other European higher education
institutions are very welcome;
-
visiting
students from at least two member universities;
-
minimum
number of doctoral students in specialized course should be fixed to 10
with
possible exception for veterinary medicine where a number of
participants may
be lower if accepted by BOVA CC. Minimum number of participants for
common courses
should be 15. Common courses should be open for teachers from member
universities as well.
According to agreement in the
BOVA network, funding
policy of joint international BOVA doctoral courses is following:

application
to all possible donors, including NordForsk when relevant. Applicants
will
receive a great support from BOVA secretariat, coordinators, home
international
(development) departments suggesting list of potential donors,
contributing
application writing;

in
case of failure � internal funds might be expected from home
universities to
run the course at the basic cost;
-
ach
member university decides on the amount on its own and pays for a
teacher for
preparation of materials and teaching in the course.

Socrates
mobility grants should be used for teacher mobility in all cases.
Submitted applications will be
evaluated by
BOVA CC and final list of courses will be approved by the end of the
year.
