Summary of the achievements and other materials from the �NOVA-BOVA
Seminar on Joint MSc Courses: Review of 2003 and Plans for 2004�
have been published on the BOVA website. Seminar was held in Tartu on
December 2003 and summarized activities in organisation of MSc courses
in the Baltic agricultural universities.
Continuing activity started in 1996, NOVA and BOVA universities successfully arrange short MSc courses - 8 MSc courses were conducted in 2003. The seminar in Tartu reviewed courses conducted in 2003 and planned future cooperation. Participants of the seminar discussed on the pedagogical, administrative and organizational issues. Two days of discussions raised possible directions to develop courses in the future. However, the dilemma remains if courses should focus on provision of deeper knowledge on specific topics and focus strictly on MSc or PhD students or be wider and provide general overview on relevant topic and introduce and compare different approaches and aspects in different countries. Positive evaluation of courses by students is a crucial issue to develop courses in the future. It obligates us to look for possibilities to arrange more courses in future.
