NCM grants Joint NOVA-BOVA MSc Courses
2004-02-10

Seeking to continue the successful MSc course activity, an application to the Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) was submitted by the NOVA secretariat in August 2003. In the beginning of February 2004, the NOVA-BOVA network was granted DKK 300.000 for organising intensive MSc courses. The whole grant must be utilized during 2004. Teachers from BOVA member universities are invited to express their interest in organising joint courses.

Distance-learning remains a key component in the course structure. Special emphasis should be given to creating joint teacher teams in BOVA universities jointly engaging into course preparation, information to and enrolment of students, and teaching. Course organisers are encouraged to accommodate broader audience, including students from the Nordic countries. Selected courses and seminars can also suit the needs of practitioners, being open for representatives from the state administrations, advisory centres, etc. NOVA-BOVA will also support seminars on teaching and research methodology.

Very importantly, courses should engage teachers and students from the Northwest Russia. If lacking Russian contacts, course organisers are encouraged to send requests to NOVA and BOVA secretariats for assistance.

Everyone who is interested in organisation of short MSc courses is welcome to write to the BOVA secretariat ([email protected]) and register her/his course for 2004. The organisers should indicate preliminary course budget; courses planned in spring 2004 will receive a high priority in the allocation of funds. A simple course registration form will be prepared and available from BOVA website at the end of February.
