In April 20-23, a NOVA-BOVA delegation led by the NOVA rector Paul Jensen and BOVA rector Henrikas Zilinskas was visiting agricultural universities in the Northwest Russia region. The main aim was to establish official contacts between the NOVA-BOVA network and higher education institutions in Russia. During four days, the delegation visited four institutions:

• Petrozavodsk State University (faculties of Agriculture and Forest Engineering);

• St.Petersburg State Agrarian University;

• St.Petersburg State Forest Technical Academy and

• St.Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

Key contact persons for future cooperation were identified at all visited institutions. Participation of Russian students in NOVA PhD courses and intensive NOVA-BOVA Master courses were proposed from NOVA-BOVA together with possibility to involve Russian teachers to Nordic-Baltic networks. Our colleagues in Northwest Russia expressed their willingness for cooperation with Nordic and Baltic agricultural universities thus raising hopes for a fruitful follow-up.
