Agroecology meeting in Tartu

Representatives from Baltic Agricultural Universities met in Tartu in May 5. They discussed the development of Master programme in Agroecology and Organic Agriculture.

Meeting took place in Estonian Agricultural University in May 5 and was hosted by Tiina Koster and Volli Geherman. Three other teachers from Agroecology network (Dzidra Kreismane and Elita Seligovska from Latvia University of Agriculture and Anzelika Raskauskiene from Lithuanian University of Agriculture) participated in the meeting. The main topics of the discussion focused on future development of the group activity in 2004 and especially on planning of the introductory course and related study tour in each country. Another course in agroecology and organic farming was planned for autumn 2004.

Next meeting of the workgroup with invited colleagues from Nordic universities and teachers from North West Russia regions is foreseen for the end of June, 2004.

Baltic applications to NOVA PhD courses - May 2004
2004-05-18
Following the NorFA deadline of May 1, five NOVA PhD courses were available for Baltic and Russian PhD students. This was already 6th round of applications since summer 2002. NOVA and BOVA secretariats sincerely thank the organizers of NOVA courses for their good will to consider the Baltic students and prepare applications to NorFA.

Total number of applications received in the 6th round was 15 and students in veterinary sciences are traditionally most active in the process (cf. Table).
