Nordplus Neighbour grants to NOVA-BOVA network

Six applications were submitted by NOVA-BOVA member universities to Nordplus Neighbour that is a programme funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Nordic-Baltic academic networks in agroecology, biosystems engineering, economics, forestry, food safety and hygiene, and ICT learning applied for significant funds following the deadline of March 1, 2004. Three applications were granted support by the Research Council of Norway that is responsible for administration of the Nordplus Neighbour programme.

Thus, in total NOVA-BOVA was granted NOK 695.000, which makes around 7 per cent from the total Nordplus Neighbour budget (NOK 9.900.000) and is a proof of successful network fund rising activity. This is also a great encouragement for all active NOVA-BOVA networks to prepare applications for the next Nordplus Neighbour round, deadline March 1, 2005.

Other submitted applications were of high quality but were not approved due to a very high competition. Less than 50 projects were granted support out of 180 applications.
