First distance learning course in the BOVA network

Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the Estonian Agricultural University is ready to provide the first totally distance learning course in the BOVA network. Distance course "Biodiversity and its conservation" was prepared by team of four teachers and will start in October 24, 2005. Registration is open till October 20, 2005.

The main course topics are:

  • Biodiversity concepts origin and importance;

  • Global patterns of biodiversity;

  • Ecologic factors influencing diversity and controlling its distribution;

  • Genetic diversity, its genesis and persistence;

  • Ecosystem approach and principles of deep ecology, measurement of biodiversity;

  • Threats to biodiversity Biodiversity conservation.

Students from all BOVA member universities are welcome to join and take a high quality course without leaving their universities. Application details are available at BOVA webpage. Click here to get more information about the course and registration details.
