Funds for NOVA-BOVA Networks and Joint MSc Programmes

 

AREAS ACTIVITIES CRITERIA PROCEDURE DOWNLOADS


The NOVA-BOVA Coordination Committee has allocated a part of grant from K&A Wallenberg foundation to support the development of academic networks and joint MSc programmes between NOVA-BOVA member universities. Sum equal to euro 1000 forms the basic grant and additional support could be available upon request. Following priority areas are identified at the moment:

  • AgroBiotech
  • Agro-Ecology
  • Animal Science/Vet. PhD
  • Baltic Biosystem Engineering
  • Biodiversity
  • Bioinformatics
  • Economics
  • Food Hygiene and Safety
  • Forestry
  • Game Management
  • Rural Development

Activities relevant to funding

  • costs of network or MSc programme meetings (travels included);
  • expenses related to involvement of NOVA partners;
  • costs of seminars (except directly related to different courses for students);
  • expenses related to the preparation of applications to external donors;
  • other activities relevant to network or MSc programme development (each case has to be discussed with the BOVA secretariat).

Criteria enabling for support

  1. clear vision of future activities (preferably, network leaders should have defined collaboration goals and an activity plan)
  2. participation of at least 2 BOVA universities and 1 university from the NOVA side
  3. participation of at least 6 active persons in network activities, including network meetings
  4. preliminary agenda of the upcoming meeting included into the application.

High priority is given for preparation of applications to Socrates Erasmus Curriculum Development (CD) projects. The next annual deadline is March 1, 2004. Applicants are encouraged to apply for NOVA-BOVA grant for preparation of CD projects without delay.

Summary of application procedure

Time. Anytime till Autumn 2003.

Documents. Application package should include filled-in application form with enclosed materials as requested in the form.

To whom apply.  Papers should be sent to Alvidas Sarlauskas at the BOVA secretariat ([email protected]) and a copy to BOVA coordinator at the home university. The application will be evaluated at BOVA and NOVA secretariats without delay, usually within 10 days after the submission.

After receiving a positive approval from the secretariat, applicant can use money that are under disposition by BOVA coordinators (Kylli Korgesaar, Ruta Zaleckite, Minvydas Liegus and Ruta Skinkyte) or are provided internally by the home university. The funds will be reimbursed from the NOVA secretariat after the submission of activity report that should also include a brief financial part and invoice on behalf of the leading university.

Deadlines for reporting and billing. The activity report should be submitted to BOVA and NOVA secretariats before November 15, 2004 at the latest. Secretariats have no possibilities to be responsible for any financial obligations after the 15th of November, 2004.
