Steps in arranging a NOVA-BOVA MSc course:
Short guide for course organisers
1. Contact BOVA coordinator at home university (Kylli Korgesaar at EPMU, Ruta Zaleckite at LLU, Minvydas Liegus at LZUU and Violeta Saladiene at LVA) and discuss the course idea. It is worth to answer for yourself the following questions:
  • what is the overall (rough) idea of the course?
  • what teaching team is expected from the home university?
  • what teachers can be invited from other Baltic universities?
  • what teachers can be invited from Nordic universities and Northwest Russia?
  • how many students could be invited to the course, what are the shares of home/Baltic/Nordic/Northwest Russia students?
  • how you are going to provide a distance learning part (use of ICT means are strongly recommended) in your course?

If there is a lack of potential teachers, the BOVA secretariat should be contacted for assistance.

2. Form a small personal international network and create a teaching team. Agree upon the course dates, contents and teaching methods with your international colleagues. Agree on deadlines for course preparation.

3. At least one month before the distance learning starts but not later than established deadlines, submit the course registration form and preliminary course budget to the BOVA secretariat. For details of submission see Point 6 below.

4. Forty percent of the requested budget will be transferred from NOVA right after the student team is collected and the list presented to the BOVA secretariat. The secretariat will seek an agreement with rectors that the rest of course expenses could be initially covered from the budget of the host university. These costs will be reimbursed from NOVA funds right after the final financial report is ready and approved by BOVA and NOVA secretariats.

5. The final financial report should be presented (usually within 2 weeks) after finalisation of the course but not later than last deadline for its submission.

6. Course registration form should be sent (preferably by email) to the BOVA secretariat:

Email: [email protected]
Post address: Studentu 15(b), Akademija,
LT-53361 Kauno raj., Lithuania
Fax: +370 37 75 23 76

The decision on course acceptance will be sent to you within two weeks after the registration form is received at secretariat.
