NOVA-BOVA Postgraduate course �Sustainable management of cultural and historic landscape�
The course is intended for postgraduate students and researchers
from the Baltic Agricultural Universities with interest of sustainable
management of landscape. Total number of participants is planned up to 20.
This course gives students an opportunity to understand
ecological and cultural principles, the nature of different ecosystems, the
implications of sustainable development and the management processes for
preservation, enhancement and development of different types of landscapes.

Note: Solution to invite the NOVA professors will depend on financing
possibilities.
ECTS
You can receive 3 ECTS if study obligatory literature,
participate in the seminar 7-9 May 2003 and present literature, submit and
present individual work. Depending on your individual work quality and
discussion quality during seminars and presentations you can receive additional
1till 2 ECTS.
Individual assignments for students before meeting in person
These assignments should be completed before the meeting in Jelgava.
1. Visit cultural or heritage landscape in your home country.
2. Write a survey report about visit of this landscape (at least 3 pages of
A4 size, font 12pt, including illustrations).
3. Make a valuation of this landscape and write management plan proposal for
this landscape (at least 3 pages of A4 size, font 12pt including illustrations).
4. Submit and present a survey report and valuation/management plan at the
seminar in 7-9 May 2003.
