BOVA History
Preface
BOVA is the Baltic Forestry, Veterinary and Agricultural University Network established in 1996.
BOVA members are:
Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU), former Estonian Agricultural University
Latvia University of Agriculture (LLU)
Aleksandras Stulginskis University (ASU), former Lithuanian University of Agriculture
Lithuanian University of Health Sciences - Veterinary Academy (LSMU-VA), former Lithuanian Veterinary Academy
Establishment of BOVA very much based on the initiation of the cooperation between NOVA and Baltic Agricultural universities and reaches mid 1990s.

BOVA UN performs its activities, following the strategic document approved by BOVA RB.
Up to 2012 the main strategic document was "BOVA University Network Strategy for the period 2009-2011" .
New Strategical plans are introduced in the BOVA UN Strategy 2012-2014, which is approved by BOVA RB on February 3, 2012.

BOVA Annual Reports
Traditionally since 2003 BOVA publishing the annual reports on BOVA activities where in short from is described main achievements in the network and suggested proposal for the further development.
Network of Universities
BOVA UN (The Baltic Forestry, Veterinary and Agricultural University Network) is a connecting network of universities offering the higher education in the field of agriculture, forestry, veterinary and other related sciences.
BOVA was established in 1996 with the main idea to build up and strengthen academic collaboration as well as mobility and exchange of experience among BOVA member universities, namely, the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the Latvia University of Agriculture, Aleksandras Stulginskis University (former Lithuanian University of Agriculture) and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences - Veterinary Academy.
VISION
BOVA UN is a widely known and recognised regional network of four Baltic universities that provides joint international high quality education in agriculture, forestry and veterinary to Baltic and international students and training basis for academic staff.
MISSION
BOVA UN through its organisational units is looking for potential cooperation areas to initiate joint international education, support the development of teaching staff competences at the same time supporting them by all the necessary tools and resources, thus providing a stable platform for academic staff activities.
Agreements
Willingness for international cooperation in the field of higher education in agriculture, veterinary, forestry and other related sciences within BOVA and between BOVA and NOVA is manifested in signed between partners’ agreements.

BOVA Strategy 2012-2014
BOVA University Strategy for the first time was developed in 2005 for the period of 3 years 2006 -2008. This strategic document pointed the way of development for BOVA.
7 main objectives were defined for this period with certain tasks.
In 2008 BOVA started to analyse the reached results, performed the SWOT analyse and based on it in the WG worked out the BOVA University Network Strategy for the period of 2009-2011 which have been approved by BOVA Rectors’ Boar in the meeting in Jelgava, February 5, 2009.

During the 2011 WG on Development of new BOVA Strategy have performed the brain -storming meetings at each member institutions in order to analyze performed action and indicate new directions of joint cooperation.
Great input in the development of BOVA Strategy was made by participants of all member institutions during the BOVA Seminar in Kaunas on December 8-9, 2011 at Aleksandras Stulginskis University.
Finally the BOVA University Network Strategy was approved by BOVA RB on February 3, 2012 at LLU in Jelgava and come into force for the next 3 years period.
