NOVA PhD Course on Applied statistics with R for the agricultural, life and veterinary sciences.

35 PhD students from NOVA and BOVA member institutions (about 20 nationalities) spend at Latvia University of Agriculture in Jelgava intensive days from August 12 to 17. This group of students devoted this summer week to study the statistical methods with the program "R" in order to help analyze their own research data. Course leader prof. Jens C.Streibig from Copenhagen University and three statisticians from KU and an instructor from Finland ran the course for the 5th time. The running of the course for NOVA and BOVA PhD students in Latvia gives a good example to other course leaders of NOVA courses that this is an excellent way to further the cooperation between NOVA and BOVA and help creating network of students and teachers  paticulary  with BOVA institutions.

Studies in this course was arranged in very intensive way, starting from 8:00 to 18:00 every day and after the dinner individual consultations at the hotel  almost until midnight under the supervision of excellent NOVA course teachers: Christian Ritz, Chistian Pipper, Catarina Simoes and Jens C. Streibig and from Switzerland Florent Baty.
