The TEMPUS Programme 2007-2013 is the EU-funded programme that supports the modernisation of higher eduction in the EU's neighbouring countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East. The Programme· contributes to cooperation in higher education between the European Union and the partner countries. Tempus promotes the voluntary convergence of higher education system in these countries with EU developments in higher education.
The Tempus 5th Call for Proposals was published on 4th November, 2011 with a deadline for submission 23th of February 2012.
Tempus finances 3 types of Actions:
1. Joint Projects: implemented at institutional level to reform curricula, improve university governance, create more links with society.
2. Structural Measures: implemented at national level for the development and reform of national higher education structures and systems in partner Countries.
3. Accompanying Measures: Disseminating and information activities (conferences, studies, exchange of good practice, National Tempus Offices, Higher Education Reform Experts, etc.)
